Let's Go Workshop - Pacific City, Oregon

Learning is such an important part of photography. There is always something to gain when you invest in learning. Last week I got the opportunity to work with some of the most talented photographers in the industry. What an incredible day filled with creativity, new opportunities and knowledge that I will take with me in every session.

Lauren & Austin Wedding

The Oregon Coast is famous for it's breathtaking beaches and rocky cliffs that adorn the Pacific Northwest that bring millions of visitors to it's small coastal towns that are dotted up and down the famous shorelines. People dream of getting married here and there's no shortage of beautiful famous wedding destinations...but don't forget the incredibly lush old-growth forests that boast lush greenery, moss and host a vast array of flora and fauna. With such incredible beauty I'm certain that most Disney films that included forest scenes were inspired by our own forests.

Lauren & Austin's wedding took advantage of the surrounding forests that adorn our Oregon Coastal range and turned their wedding into magic. With fresh lavender grown here locally at farm Oregon Coast Lavender and fresh flowers, candles, lace and wooden pedestals the guests were transported into a magical fairytale where the bride and the groom echoed the beautiful natural beauty of their surroundings with a relaxed atmosphere that echoed the style and personalities of Lauren and her handsome groom. At any moment I expected Unicorns to come waltzing out to graze on the daisy's but wait...that was probably just the goat that gets to call this place home!

Oregon Coast Wedding

A little over a month ago I found a dress in our local store here in Tillamook called Phoenix Exchange. I went in and wasn't sure what I was looking for but new I would see it when I found it. I had almost given up hope when I spotted a piece of lace in the back of a closet. I wrestled through a mountain of prom dresses and pulled out what was at some point someone's dream wedding dress from an era long gone. It was an incredible site and it took my breath away. I knew immediately that I would be featuring this dress in my portfolio. I walked around the corner to one of Tillamook's finest florists and started explaining my vision and what I was hoping to accomplish with this stylized shoot. The gals at Sunflower Flats were quick to join in on my enthusiasm and partnered with me to bring my whole vision to life with garland, a floral headpiece and the core of my vision with a beautiful vertical bouquet along with a smaller bouquet perfect for any brides bridal toss bouquet.

April can be a blustery and rainy month for Oregon and last weeks shoot at Cape Lookout was no exception. We were faced with rain, wind, frigid temperatures and even hail with peaks of sunshine in between. The sea mist in the air provided an environment that was almost mystical in nature. The Oregon Coast can be such a magical place and as a newcomer here I am exploring constantly exploring and looking for that next beautiful backdrop that will be every couples dream for their engagement or wedding photos. Cape Lookout is a perfect marriage of trees and ocean views that will bring a stunning backdrop to anyone's love story.
